Camping at Spirit Mountain

Camp in the Heart of Duluth

Set up camp in the woods without giving up everything Duluth has to offer. Spirit Mountain Campground puts you close to the best of the city, with hiking and biking trails right outside your door and easy access to Lake Superior, Canal Park, the Lakewalk, the Lincoln Park Craft District, and beyond.

Our campground has 73 campsites, plus walk-in tent sites, with fire pits, picnic tables, and electricity. Thirty-nine sites also offer water hookups, and two shower buildings are available 24 hours a day.

Adventure from your site

You don’t have to load up the car to find something to do. The Superior Hiking Trail is within walking distance, and mountain bikers can pedal right from their campsite to Spirit Mountain’s lift-served trail system.

Across the road, the Spirit Mountain Adventure Park has something for the whole family, including the Timber Twister Alpine Coaster, Timber Flyer Zip Line, Jumping Pillow, and 9-hole Putt-Putt. You can also hop on the Scenic Chairlift for a ride with sweeping views of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River.

And when it’s time to refuel, Riverside Bar & Grill is right at the base of the mountain, serving up lunch, dinner, cold drinks, and views.

The Perfect Home Base for a Duluth Getaway

Spirit Mountain is a great place to stay if you want to explore Duluth and the North Shore without the peak summer price tag. Spend the morning hiking at Jay Cooke State Park, grab a beer and wander the shops in the Lincoln Park Craft District, spend the afternoon along the Lakewalk and Canal Park, or head up the shore for a day of exploring. Then come back to your campsite, make a fire, and settle in for the night.
