The Spirit Mountain Nordic Center Center has been a dream, vision and reality for a number of years. Thanks to the tremendous fund raising efforts from DXC, support from the City of Duluth along with operational ownership from Spirit Mountain. Duluth is one step closer to becoming a world-class Nordic skiing community.
Phase one of the GANC project is on target for opening winter 2018. This will feature 2.5km of Nordic-specific trail with 1.5km of full snowmaking capabilities. Daily, professional machine grooming will make this trail system iconic and user friendly all season long.
The Spirit Mountain Nordic Center is located at 8551 Grand Ave. Featuring a full service chalet, including food, beverage, Riverside Bar and Grill, restrooms, changing areas and more.
Hours of operations are dawn to dusk, when open for the season. See the Snow Report for more details.
With options for all levels of skier, these natural snow trails are groomed for classic and skate skiing and marked with various loops and connectors. The Upper Nordic Trails at Spirit Mountain feature 22 kilometers of beautifully wooded cross-country ski trails located at 9535 West Skyline Parkway, just past the main entrance to Spirit Mountain. No rental equipment is available. Ski trails are open dawn to dusk.
Grooming is performed nightly by Spirit Mountain as conditions warrant.
