Mountain Message

Open today: Saturday! Light showers and overcast skies in the forecast won’t stop the fun for us! The adventure park and mountain bike park will be open with some small delays/changes.

Adventure Park: the alpine coaster, putt putt course, and scenic lift will be open as usual. The zipline and jumping pillow will have a delay until they dry out.

Mountain Biking: the lift is up and running and this rain has made the dirt nice and grippy. Most trails are open except for our recently rebuilt trails (black jump line, dreamland, the things, and Greenman) that will be delayed until they dry out a touch.

Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Come visit us again Thursday-Monday for adventure, fun, and the last weekends of summer!

Mountain Bike Trail Update: Candyland and Greenman are close below skyline while we complete some work to them. Smorgasbord and Moonman are closed until noon-ish while we complete some updates to them.

Open Thursday-Monday! This weekend's forecast calls for overcast skies and temperatures in the 60s-70s. Fall leaves are starting to make an appearance on the hill and we suspect it will only be a couple weeks until the hill really comes alive with colors.

Adventure Park & Mountain Biking Open Today! Trails Fest Info Below.

We have a great looking weekend ahead of us! Duluth Trails Fest kicks off on Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday mid-day.

Mountain Bike Events (Trail Closures, Times, DJ events & more):

The official schedule of events can be found at Duluth Trail Fest's Event Page. Races kick off on Friday at 5pm and run through mid-day on Sunday. During these races, the hill is still open to non-racers. The majority of the hill will be open at any given moment as the individual trail races are occurring. For each race, we will close off the corresponding trail only for the duration of the race (up to 2 hours). After each race is complete, we will reopen the trails for regular riding. All festivities will be based out of the Grand Avenue Chalet as well as our ticket office, Riverside Bar & Grill, and event parking. Spectators can move around the hill with the events but we ask that they stay a safe distance off the race trails and keep and eye out for bikers at all crossings. DJs will be at certain events throughout the weekend including the Chainless Downhill Race, the Whip Off, and the Advanced Downhill Race.

Trail Running Events:

All trail running events will take place on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The official schedule of events can be found at Summit North Trail Runs' Event Page.

Food & Beverage:

The Riverside Bar & Grill will be open for burgers, wings, wraps, and cold drinks. Grab a bite and relax on the patio in between laps.

Adventure Park & Scenic Lift:

The adventure park (including the alpine coaster, zip line, jumping pillow, and putt putt) will be open as usual this weekend. This is a great weekend to take the scenic lift and soak up the excitement of the races from up above. The Chainless Downhill race on Friday night at 5pm and the Enduro races on Saturday at 1pm will both be viewable from the chairlift.

Mountain Biking & Adventure Park Open! It’s a perfect day out on the hill. Some rain yesterday morning has brightened up all the greenery and is making for some great dust-free mountain bike trails. Thimbleberries are also ripening up and are all over the hill.

Friday: Mountain Biking Closed, Adventure Park Open!

Due to the morning rainstorm, our trails are thoroughly drenched and we have made the difficult decision to close them today. We are expecting them to dry out today and overnight for some prime riding tomorrow.

The Adventure Park will be open today from 10am-7pm. The Timber Flyer Zipride and the Jumping Pillow will be delayed while they dry out but will open shortly. The Alpine Coaster, Putt Putt Golf, and Scenic Chair will be open as normal. Take a ride down to Riverside for a burger, some parmesan fries, and a beer!
