Beginning December 26, we’ll move into extended holiday hours, with all operations open until 8:00 PM each evening. Glow Tubing will be available every night throughout the holiday period, adding extra fun after dark.

Operations Update: We are closing our lifts tonight due to high wind gusts. We will be open tomorrow morning for normal operations starting at 10am. Riverside Bar & Grill will be open tonight until 8pm with good food and cold beers!

Chilly temperatures this weekend won't stop us from having a good time! We are open today (Saturday) from 10am-8pm and tomorrow (Sunday) from 10am-6pm. Make sure to layer well and spend plenty of time warming up in the chalet between runs.

The Moosehead Saloon is now open for the season! To kick off the year, we are hosting Midwest Telefest's Bad Fashion Ski Party with ongoing live music, a specialty beer, and lots of goodies to give away.

Weekend Operations Update:

Winter is here and we are open full time! Between cold temperatures that kept our snowmaking guns running 24/7 and the natural snow that's fallen across the mountain, we have most of our terrain open!

You can check our current trails and lift status (updated daily before opening) on our Snow Report Page and our most up to date hours on our Hours Page.

Special Event: Join us on Saturday, December 13 for Midwest Telefest's Annual Bad Fashion Ski Party! A specialty Bent Paddle Beer, live music all day, and tons of goodies to give away! Get the details at: facebook.com/events/1203526718316238

Downhill update: We are opening up for full time operations starting this Friday! From here on out, our our hours will be: 10am-8pm Monday -Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sundays.

Highline Lift update: The Highline Lift is ready to spin! We will be opening our new lift to the public this weekend!

Nordic update: Both upper and lower Nordic trails are open and groomed! This weekend the lower Nordic trails will be closed for the Proctor Invite. Please stay off of the lower Nordic trails during the following dates and times: Friday (12/11) at 7am until Sunday (12/13) at 4pm. Upper Nordic trails will remain open to the public during this time.

Uphill Travel update: Thank you for staying off the hill this week while we continued to ready the hill for opening. Uphill travel is reinstated! Please read our uphill travel protocol before skinning up the slopes.

Tubing update: The base for our tubing hill is starting to take shape! But we still need to blow a lot more snow to make it fun, fast, and safe for everyone. We will keep you updated on social media and our website when it opens!

Parking: Grand Avenue Chalet will be home to a large Nordic race this weekend meaning that parking will be extremely limited. If you're coming to downhill ski, parking at Skyline will be much more plentiful.

Operations Update: Downhill skiing will be open from December 5-7 with lifts running from 10am-5pm each day. The hill will be closed from December 8-11 to prepare for full time opening. Spirit will reopen the hill for full operations starting December 12.

Current Trail Status can be found on our Snow Report Page. We will update this daily with our open lifts and runs. Current hours can be found on our Hours Page.

Nordic Skiing is groomed with the PB100. Upper nordic is fully open. Lower nordic has been groomed up to the point of the DWP crossing.

Early Winter Update: We will reopen for downhill skiing on Friday, December 5

Downhill: We will be open Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8 from 10am-5pm. Our snowmakers and groomers are working around the clock to create a good base. We will update closer to Friday with the exact lifts and runs that will be open.

Nordic: Upper and Lower Nordic Trails are OPEN!!!!! Upper Nordic is fully open, while Lower Nordic is open up to the DWP trail. We groomed the trails with the PB100. Coverage is complete but a bit uneven. As we groom, we ill temporarily close full sections so that they can properly set before reopening them.

Uphill Skiing: Until we reopen on Friday, December 5, we ask everyone, including our uphill travel friends, to please stay off the hill. Our team is actively working with heavy equipment, grooming machinery, hoses, and snowmaking across the slopes. Several areas are still unstable and not yet safe for travel. Your cooperation keeps everyone safe and helps us open faster.

Season Pass Pickup: You can pick up your season passes at either ticket office (Skyline or Grand Ave) from 9:30am-4pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When we open up for full time downhill operations, you will be able to pick up your season pass during any of our open hours.

Opening Day: Sunday, November 30, 2025

Spirit Mountain is excited to welcome skiers and snowboarders back for the start of the 2025–26 winter season. The Spirit Express Lift will officially open for the season on Sunday, November 30, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thanks to continued snowmaking efforts and favorable overnight temperatures, guests will have access to Powder Monkey, Bindle Stiff, and Downhill Musher on opening weekend. At this time, the bunny hill, terrain park, tubing hill, and nordic center will remain closed as the team builds additional snow coverage.

Spirit Mountain will resume snowmaking throughout the week and plans to reopen again the following weekend, with additional terrain coming online as conditions allow.

Ticketing, Pass Pickup & Rentals

The Skyline Chalet ticket office will open from 10am-2pm on Saturday for those who want to grab their season pass early. The Grand Avenue Chalet and Skyline Chalet ticket offices will be open starting at 9:30am on Sunday.

Rentals will be available exclusively at the Skyline Chalet on opening weekend.

Food & Beverage

Both Riverside Bar & Grill and the Skyline Cafe will be open, offering warm meals, drinks, and a place to relax between laps.

Nordic  & Tubing Updates

  • Nordic Center: Snowmakers are ready, but recent temperatures at the bottom of the hill have been too warm to build a deep enough base. Nordic snowmaking will continue as soon as conditions allow.
  • Tubing Hill: Tubing requires a significant snow base to ensure a fast, fun, and safe experience. Tubing is not yet open; snowmaking efforts will shift to tubing after primary downhill terrain is established.

Highline Chairlift Update

Spirit Mountain’s brand-new Highline 4-person chairlift is nearing completion. The lift will open to the public once there is sufficient snowpack on its side of the mountain. The team is eager to debut the new lift for the community this season.

Opening Day Update:

We’re just as eager as you are to kick off the 25/26 ski season! Our team is pushing hard to get the hill ready. With tonight’s cold temps and incoming natural snowfall (plus lots of snowmaking), we hope to open the Spirit Express lift this weekend. However, Mother Nature has the final say, and our opening day will ultimately depend on whether we have enough snow coverage to open safely.

As soon as the decision is made, we’ll share the news across all our social media channels, notify season passholders by email, and update the Mountain Message on our website.

Thanks for your excitement and patience. We can’t wait to welcome you back!
