Thursday at 12:30pm

Thanks to Mother Nature as well as our dedicated snowmakers, we will roll this weekend for some skiing & snowboarding!  Plans at this point are to operate from 9am-6pm both Saturday & Sunday.  All operations and amenities will be based out of our lower chalet down on Grand Avenue.  There will be NO lessons available this weekend, and there will NOT be any beginner terrain available....our hope is to add beginner terrain and lessons into the mix by next weekend.

We will continue snowmaking at any & all times we possibly can, and it appears we have some most excellent opportunities ahead for making snow.  It is difficult to state exactly how much terrain will be open for the coming weekend, but it will definitely be limited.  As for now, we anticipate having Powder Monkey, Bindle Stiff, Downhill Musher and hopefully Sissor Bill, Log Roller and lower Four Pipe at some point over the weekend.  We will have some park features and elements set up on a couple of areas for opening weekend.  Again, the terrain will be limited primarily to one or possibly two top-to-bottom runs serviced by our Express chairlift and we will have an Opening Weekend ticket special of $29 on both days this weekend.

The slopes will not be open Monday-Thursday next week, simply so we can focus on snowmaking.  Our plan woud be to resume operations by Friday, December 16th, and daily operations will commence thereafter.  If all holds as projected, we should see several more trails open by next weekend.

Like many of you, we are quite excited to get things rolling here for the winter season....it has been a long and much anticipated wait, and we appreciate the continued support.

Keep doing those snow dances, and we will keep making that snow!

Monday, December 5 at 10am

Monday, December 5th @ 10am - Here we GO!  We are stoked to see the forecasts for the incoming cold, and the even better news is that it appears WINTER will officially be here to stay once this cold settles in!  Our snowmakers did make a little snow over the weekend, but temps were quite marginal and not much in the form of success.  That's about to change significantly as looks like we'll have around the clock snowmaking on tap with overnights in the teens for much of this week & beyond!

Mother Nature did bring us a few inches of snow here on the hill, and we could certainly see some additional natural snowfall as we move ahead through this week and next!  The time has come, and we are so pumped for WINTER to arrive in the Northaland.

Although it is a bit too early to put forth exact details, our plans at this point are to have some early-season skiing & riding this coming weekend, December 10th & 11th, and then we would be hopeful for daily operations to begin right around the 16th of December.  Obviously, our primary focus must be on snowmaking, and more so, making as much snow & opening as many slopes as possible as quickly as we can.  Please stay tuned for additional updates as all unfolds.

December 3rd @ 6:45pm

December 3rd @ 6:45pm - Bring on the cold weather!  We are very ready to see the forecasted cold temps arrive here in the Northland.  We did begin making snow on Friday, but due to temps in the 30's and high humidity, the snowmakers shut things down on Saturday.  We are simply waiting on the cold temps and once they arrive we will begin making snow in full force.  Our plans at this point are to have some early-season skiing & riding next weekend, December 10th & 11th, so please stay tuned for additional updates as all unfolds.  Think Cold!  Think Snow!  Think Spirit!

28 November 2016 10am

28 November at 10:00am ~ Well, waking up this morning feels more spring-like than anything.  40+ degrees at 6am on the 28th of November in Duluth, Minnesota, just does not seem quite right, eh?  But, this has somewhat been our pattern here in November 2016 and not too much we can do about the weather!

However, we are thankful for many things and feel fortunate on many levels...here's a few details:

1 - We were able to pump out just enough snow in bacially two overnights and one day to build a Snocross track as well as start the process of covering the slopes for the ski/ride season.

2 - Despite the crazy, foggy weather on Sunday, we pulled off Snocross with some amazing racing and good times for all to enjoy!  Thanks to the folks from ISOC, as well as all the Teams, Riders and Fans for the continued support of the Duluth National Snocross!!

3 - Our park crew scrounged enough snow for a little pre-season Happy Shredsgiving hike session yesterday down at our Grand Avenue Chalet...great to see so many come out to enjoy the set, and we're definitely stoked about what's in store for The Parks of Spirit this coming season!

4 - Though it appears the unseasonable weather is going to be around most of this week, as we roll into the weekend, it appears that snowmaking conditions return....AND, better yet, next week's forecast is shaping up to bring in a system of serious arctic air that should be sticking around for quite some time!

5 - If the weather does unfold as projected, we would anticipate a opening at some point around the 9th or 10th of December.  Obvioulsy, a lot has to happen and hold true between now and then to make this happen...but, that is somewhat where all stands

Monday, Nov. 28th = Deadline for our SNOW SAVERS!  Discounts on lift ticket, rentals and NEW! Learn to Ski and Snowboard Package.  INFO HERE.

Stay tuned, and we'll keep you informed as all unfolds.
