Weather Safety Policy
Spirit Mountain reserves the right to cease operation (close) at any time due to
a variety of factors impacting the safety of the customers, slopes, and chairlifts.
Factors to be considered include, but are not limited to; temperature, wind
chill, frost bite, wind speed, wind direction, visibility, precipitation, and other
factors impacting the safe use of the slopes and chairlifts. Temperatures
below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, winds in excess of 15 MPH when coupled with low temperatures,
winds from the east or northwest exceeding 30 MPH regardless of temperatures, dense
fog, freezing rain, lightening, and freeze/thaw spring conditions are some of the
factors influencing the decision to close the facility. If weather is
questionable, please check our Snow Report for the most current information
on our operating status, or call (218) 628-2891 locally, or toll free at 1-800-642-6377. You
can also tune in to KDLH-TV3 in Duluth, or any of the Clear Channel radio stations
(B105, KOOL 101.7, The MIX 108, and KFAN) for closing updates.
