Sunday, February 12 at 5:45am:

Stoked to welcome NEWSCHOOLERS Tell-A-Friend Tour to Duluth on this SundayFunday!  We did get a few flakes of snow overnight, and expect pretty nice slope & park conditions again here today.  It's a bit on the breezy-side this morning, so bundle up and enjoy today's offerings.  Due to the sustained & gusty conditions, there will be NO fat tire bike operations today.  See snow report for additional details on today's happenings.

Thanks to all you NIGHT OWLS for coming out to The Ski Hut late-night rope park sesh last night...good times for all!  Don't forget to mark those calendars for our 3rd Annual DAMAGE DAYS coming up next Friday & Saturday!

Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30am:  Happy SnowDay!  We ended up with right at 6" of NEW snow yesterday, plus a few more flurries went down overnight.  This puts our total snowfall to right at 16" over the past week and a half....which also puts smiles on many of our & your faces!  The slope conditions are PRIME with nearly perfect machine groomed packed powder along with lots of freshies to be found as well.  Looks like a couple of days here on the chilly side, but then we see daytime temps pushing back to the 30 mark beginning Friday & beyond...plus more snow chances starting Friday, too!  It's all good here, and certainly time for you to DO-Duluth...

The halfpipe is getting a fresh cut here this morning, and Spirit Park has received some nice re-shape & refresh efforts with special attention to the medium jumpline and new frontsides plus hopeful to see a few more elements going in this week, inlcuding the infamous "hundred footer"!  The Rope Park is also getting some major attention this week with resets & refresh efforts going down each night this week.  The crew will conintue making it happen to bring you the "Best Parks in the Region"....enjoy!

Tuesday, February 7 at 6:15am:  It's all SNOW here folks!  Flakes started falling around midnight, and looking right at 4" thus far with another 1"-3" possible here by Tuesday evening!  It's been blowing and snowing on the hill most of the overnight, so there will certainly be some sweet "stashes" and pow pockets out there to be had!  What an amazing way to start out the week with a Powder Tuesday, plus more snow is in the forecast as we roll into the weekend!

Monday, February 6 at 12pm:  What an awesome weekend of snow-fun we had here in the Northland!  The slopes, terrain parks, tubing hill and fat bike trails were ALL in fantastic shape for what was an EPIC shred all across the hill!  The even better news is that this awesomeness shall continue this week as we could see some significant snow fall.  The forecast shows 4"-8" over the next 48 hours, so we're in great shape for all skiers, boarders and fat bikers!  The terrain parks are dialed and will get some lovin' this week as we reshape and reset various features & elements, plus add a few new installations as well.  The slopes are in the best shape of the entire season, so please make those plans to hit up Duluth here as soon as possible!

Friday, February 3 at 7am - Happy Friday!  A chilly start to the weekend, but we should see lots of sunshine here on Friday with temps bumping towards 20 by this afternoon.  The snow has groomed out very nicely overnight, and we're experiencing our best packed powder conditions of the entire season RIGHT NOW...plus, there's still some nice pow stashes from the half foot of snow earlier in the week.  We have a few more flakes in the forecast for Saturday with accumulation projected in the 1"-3" range.  The slopes are seriously dialed, and the terrain parks are stocked with over 33 various jibs, 9 gorgeous jumps, a sweet hip and an even sweeter Halfpipe.  So, if you have been thinking about hitting up the slopes of Duluth...might I suggest NOW is the time to do so!  Enjoy the wonderful SNOW DAY!

Thursday, February 2 at 6:45am - Happy Groundhog Day, and every Thursday is also College Day here at Spirit!  We're pretty sure Phil will come out and tell us there's at least 6 more weeks of wonderful winter remaining in the Northland, and we are certainly stoked at the current state of conditions on the hill!  The 6" of snow here these past 72 hours has brought back some stellar conditions to the slopes.  The park crew has been hitting it hard with several new feature installations over in Spirit Park, and efforts continue today...plus, the halfpipe is now officialy open for 2017!  The tube hill will be styling this weekend as well, and expect our downhill bike trails to be very nice for lift-served, fat tire biking this Sunday!  All is really good here in Duluth...hopes are you can join us!

Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30am - Another inch of snow overnight, brings us to 6" of fresh snowfall since Monday!  The skiing was most excellent on Tuesday, and expect much more of the same here on Wednesday.  It's a pretty chilly start here for February 2017, so don't forget that extra layer....this looks to be the trend here these next few days, then we should see a nice little bump in temps for the weekend PLUS chances of some more snow!  Who is planning to hit the hill this weekend...going to be a choice one to ski-ride-tube-fat bike, for sure!

Tuesday, January 31th at 6am - This final day of January 2017 is going to be a good one!  We've received nearly 5" of fresh snow in the past 24 and could see a few more flurries around the hill here throughout the day.  Expect some sweet machine groomed packed powder on the slopes today, plus you'll find some strategic grooming which will let you enjoy the fluffies throughout many of the trails AND some fairly significant powder stashes are available as well.  Been waiting for a day such as this for several weeks now....enjoy!  It's definitely going to be quite winter like with colder temps as the week moves along, and then chances of a little more snow by the weekend...yeeehaah!

As stated yesterday, it's going to be a busy week for the mountain ops crew here this week as we continue terrain park builds & installations as well as bringing the 2017 half pipe to reality!  The park crew will be adding several features into Spirit Park this week and continuing to dial all in accordingly.  We are also very excited to get final preps underway for the halfpipe, with the initial cut happening here as I type!  If all goes well, the pipe will be opening up here towards the end of this week (or sooner!!), so please stay tuned for details efforts unfold.  As for The Parks, there may be some temporary and/or partial closures here throughout the week and we will keep you updated on such over on the snow report page.  How bout' that park crew...well done!

January 30, 2017

Monday, January 30th at 9:20am - The flurries are starting to fall here on the hill....snow is expected to increase throughout the day & evening with accumulations in teh 3"-6" or MORE range!  The slopes & parks have are groomed and readied, and should be a pretty solid snow day here in  Duluth, and will get even sweeter as the flakes fall.  It's going to be a busy week here on the hill as we continue with some installations in the Terrain Parks, final efforts toward the debut of the 2017 Half Pipe as well as continuing to provide a great snow surface on our groomers.  Stay tuned for all details and make sure you get those Snow Dances On!  Winter Is HERE!

Sunday, January 29th at 6:30am - Thanks to all that hit the hill on Saturday.  It was a beautiful winter day with lots of sunshine and cooler temps.  Expect more of the same here on Sunday, plus, maybe we see a few flurries throughout the day then looks like some significant accumulations could be upon us as we roll into Monday.  The groomers have all as dialed as possible out on the slopes and in the parks this morning, so come on out and enjoy!  The lifts roll 9am-6pm today, plus fat biking operations are a go from 10am-4pm.  Unfortunately, our tube hill will not be in operation today due to maintenance matters...snowtubing will return next weekend.

As for Sunday Fat Bike Operations, YES, things are a GO for 1/29/17!  The trail crew has been out prepping trails several days this week, and despite the funky weather last week which caused some snow loss, we have CandyLand and Happy Camper back in solid shape.  Plus, add in the integrated ski slopes of Timber Cruiser and Juggler Joe...expect some good times for the fat bikes tomorrow!  We start loading bikes at 10am...see you then!

Winter Is Returning

Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 6:30am:  Had some more flakes falling here in Duluth last night, resulting in a trace accumulation of new snow!  We could possibly see a few more flurries later today, with better chances over the weekend, and perhaps Monday brings with it several inches!!  It's certainly nice to have the return of the cooler temps and some fresh flakes to bring into the mix...gonna be a nice weekend to hit the slopes & parks in Duluth, and it all starts Thursday with specially-priced COLLEGE DAY tickets, rentals, food/drink options and live music from 6p-8p in the Moosehead!  Enjoy!

The park crew has put forth some new sets and refreshed several areas here this week.  The jumplines in Spirit Park are dialed in pretty nicely and will get a bit more love here today & Friday...featues will continue being installed here as we roll along.  Our half pipe cut has been pushed back, and at this point we are hopeful to roll the cutter through here early/mid next week, which puts the pipe opening later next week!  The Rope Park continues drawing rave reviews, and we're pretty stoked on the Bonk Park & Progression Line on Powder Monkey.  All good in The Parks of Spirit...please be PARK SMART, and remember that "respect gets respect" while in the parks, the liftlines and all around the hill!

Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 6:30am:  A "dusting" of new snow last night/overnight, and the snow is actually tilling out and setting up pretty nicely here for Tuesday.  We anticipate temps into the low/mid 30s today with mostly sunny skies then lows in the upper 20s with chance of snow this evening and into Wednesday.  The GOOD TIMES are still here in Duluth, folks...come join us!

Monday, January 23, 2017:  WINTER IS RETURNING! Thank you to everyone that braved the foggy and soggy weather to join us this weekend.  It has been another wacky weather stint we have had but Sunday ended up being pretty decent.  Mild temps and soft snow but Good Times as always and looks like much of the same for today.  However, the forecast ahead looks nice as we move through the week.  Snow is back in the forecast and back to normal temps!  Bottom line is we still have snow and lots of it!  There is much of winter left!
